About Us

The Road Trip Australia website is owned and operated by Alan & Rosalind Cuthbertson. A married couple with a passion for Australian travel. We have visited all states and territories in Australia and stayed for extended periods in unforgettable locations which are not always on the typical travel itinerary.

Over the years we have completed both long and short road trips and from personal experience have a wealth of knowledge to share on road trip destinations, information that we wish we had known, and how to get the most out of Australian travels.

Road Trip Australia focuses on all forms of travel from short stays to longer road trips and includes a variety of travel styles including camping, 4wd touring, motorhome and caravan touring and car travel.  

Australia is a vast country with so much to see. Our aim is to highlight the places of interest and how to get the most out of travelling. Whether you are travelling alone, as a couple, or a family with kids, we offer advice on the places that should not be missed at the various locations we visit, together with general road trip advice. We also review useful travel gear that we have personally road tested.

Most of our travel is via regular road trips as we find that travel by road allows us to immerse ourselves in destinations we visit along the way.

During our travels, we have learnt what works and what doesn’t, and our aim is to share with you experience we have gained from many years of travel.  

Being semi-retired we have the flexibility of travelling at short notice and have in the past worked with destination and experience providers to highlight locations and experiences throughout Australia.

As professional travel writers, we have also documented many of our past travels in various print and online publications including our sister website Frequent Traveller and our Vietnam travel site.
